THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT THIS PAST WEEKEND TO HELP US CELEBRATE THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VFW! WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME AND HOPE YOU ALL DID TOO!

IT’S A NEW MONTH! WHICH MEANS A WHOLE LOT OF EXCITING THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT THE POST! LET’S TAKE A LOOK!

The Auxiliary Vendor Craft Show takes place this upcoming Saturday October 5th from 9 am- 2 pm. It is free admission and free parking. The Fry Shack will be there for those who come with an appetite! Come enjoy a variety of vendors and get some early holiday shopping done!

BOO! DID I SCARE YOU?! IF NOT, THESE TRIVIA QUESTIONS MIGHT! 

DJ Bill Wright returns to the Post on Wednesday October 9th from 6:30-8:30 pm to host Halloween Trivia! Do you dare test your wit at the ultimate game of knowledge?! 4 rounds of Trivia, 10 questions each round, and 1 winner each round! Will it be you? Gather your team and come test your luck! Wednesdays are wing nights at the Post as well! So much fun it’s scary!

WE DECIDED TO COMBINE A BUNCH OF FUN INTO ONE NIGHT, SO MAKE THE POST YOUR ONE STOP SHOP TO KICK OFF YOUR WEEKEND JUST RIGHT!

Please join us on Friday October 18th for an evening jam packed of fun! From 6-8 pm, DJ Scotty Sharpe will be hosting MUSIC BINGO in the canteen! You know you love the game! 3 rounds of different music eras and 3 different cash prize winners! That sounds like a sweet deal! The game is so easy and fun! Following Music Bingo, DJ Scotty Sharpe will stay for the rest of the evening from 8-10:30 pm for a DJ/Karaoke Night! So the singers better get ready, because this is your night to shine! Girls, get the friend group up there and give us a show! Don’t miss out on Friday nights at the Post! 

IT IS FINALLY OCTOBER, SO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! IT’S TRUNK OR TREAT MONTH! WE ARE SO EXCITED THAT OUR TRUNK OR TREAT IS ONLY A FEW WEEKS AWAY, AND WE HAVE BEEN BUSY GETTING ALL PREPPED AND READY FOR IT! HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP MAKE THIS YEAR’S TRUNK OR TREAT EVEN BETTER THAN LAST YEARS!

The Millersville VFW Post 7294’s TRUNK OR TREAT will be on Thursday October 24th from 6-8 pm. If you participated last year, or brought the children out to get goodies, then you know how AMAZING this event turned out! And we want nothing more than to have that same outcome this year! But we cannot do it without YOUR help! So help us celebrate the legacy of 125 years of service to Veterans, the Military and Community!

• We will have decorated trunks, police and fire dept vehicles, tow truck vehicles, AND A HAYRIDE!
• Parking will be different this year and we will have parking attendants outside for guidance!
• There will be food and games inside the banquet hall that everyone is welcomed to!
• We will have face painting inside the banquet hall as well!

For those who decorated a trunk and handed out candy last year….if you are going to participate this year (which we hope you do!) PLEASE PLEASE try to bring a good amount of candy! It’s hard to give an exact amount for an event like this, so just do your best! Our VFW will be accepting CANDY DONATIONS beginning now up until the day of the Trunk or Treat! These candy donations will be used to re-supply trunks that run out of candy before the event is over! So if you would like to donate candy, we would absolutely appreciate it! You may just drop candy off at our Post, you may also sign up on the sign-up sheets in the canteen to let us know you will be donating some! We will have a huge bin that we will store everything in! THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO ALREADY BROUGHT CANDY IN! OUR STOCKPILE IS LOOKING GOOD SO FAR!

If you would like to participate and decorate your trunk and hand out candy, you may sign up a few different ways! You may reach out to McKayla Herman at 717-693-3357 and let her know by call or text. You may call our Post at 717-872-9998 with your name and trunk theme (not all trunks need to be a theme, you may do what you would like, we just like to get somewhat of an idea of what the trunk or treaters can expect!), you may message the VFW Facebook, or you may sign up on the sign-up genius HERE. THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE DECORATING A TRUNK AND HANDING OUT CANDY! (You may put your trunk theme where it says public comment). Our participation last year was AMAZING, and we would be so grateful to be able to offer an array of trunks for the kids in the community to come to! So, your help and your time and enthusiasm are MUCH appreciated! It truly is a lot of fun handing out candy and seeing the children’s excitement and all of the creative costumes! *THERE WILL BE AN AWARD/PRIZE FOR THE BEST TRUNK* Each Trunk will be provided with a number, and there will be a table where everyone can vote for their favorite trunk! Winner will be announced at the end of the evening!

If you would still like to help out with this event, but aren’t too crazy about decorating a trunk, we will gladly accept your help in another way! WE NEED VOLUNTEERS BIG TIME! Inside our banquet hall, we set up a few Halloween games for the kids to come on in and play! We will need volunteers at each of those games from approximately 5/5:30 pm-8 pm. They are very simple and very easy to run! We offer face painting too! if you are creative and like to paint, please reach out and we can get you signed up to help with that!  We also offer food at this event as well! We ask people to sign-up to bring food for this, so that we are able to offer a nice little selection for everyone! We will also need a few people back at the food to help serve and replenish from about 5/5:30 pm-8 pm. Something is brewing up at the Post and it’s going to be spooktacular. It’ll be a grave mistake if you miss it! Mark the calendars for Saturday October 26th from 7-11 pm because we are throwing a HALLOWEEN COSTUME AND DANCE PARTY in the banquet hall! This will be opened to the public 21 and over. SO BRING ALL YOUR FRIENDS! Ghouls and guys are all welcomed! There will be a $10 cover charge at the door. We will have lite appetizers available along with a cash bar. An ATM is right on site. DJ Cat Daddy will be mixing up all the best beats because this is going to be a night to remember! COSTUMES ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED! We will have prizes for different costume categories, so let’s see what you got! There is an event on Facebook that you may follow in order to get any updated details! COME FOR THE BOOS! DARE TO SCARE?! Let’s party!
