The Millersville Parade takes place this upcoming Saturday September 21st and we want YOU to come help decorate the float and walk with us! We will be meeting at the Post around 5/5:30 am to begin decorating the float. We will head over to line up for the parade around 7 am! This year we want our participation to be HUGE! We are inviting Post members, Aux members and Social members to come join the fun! Let’s get in the Fall spirit and party in the parade! To help us out, there is a link on Facebook you may click on to sign up! Even if you don’t get around to signing up, you can still show up! We appreciate your support!
VFW’S SERVE SUCH AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE LIVES OF OUR VETERANS! WE PROVDE A PLACE THAT HONORS THEM AND WE ALWAYS STRIVE TO SHOW HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE THE SACRIFICE OF THOSE WHO FOUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM AND STILL CONTINUE TO DO SO! AND THIS YEAR JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE A SPECIAL YEAR FOR THE VFW!
Please join us on Sunday September 29th in the canteen for the VFW’s 125th Anniversary! We invite all of our members and their guests to come join us as we celebrate such a remarkable day! Our VFW is a lot of Veteran’s home away from home. We pride ourselves on what we do for our Veterans and our community. Now is the time to celebrate all of that! We will have food and drinks beginning from 4-8 pm. DJ Scotty Sharpe will provide music as well. Mark your calendars now so you do not miss the celebration! The Auxiliary Meat Tray Bingo will take place on Sunday September 29th in the banquet hall. Doors will open at noon and bingo begins around 1 pm. There will be food! No dabbers are needed! This event is opened to the public, so come out and play BINGO!!!
Current members. Please be sure to complete the contact information form below if you have not already done so. It will only take a few seconds. Completion of this form will be required for renewal starting in October. If you complete the form in advance of your renewal, it will significantly speed up the renewal process for you and you will make the lives of our employees much easier.

The Auxiliary’s Vendor/Craft Show will take place on Saturday October 5th from 9am- 2 pm in the banquet hall! Come get some early holiday shopping done! There will be an array of different vendors selling a multitude of different items! There surely will be something there for everyone! The Fry Shack will be on site so that you may purchase food. It is free admission and free parking.

Fly on over to the Post on your broomstick to come play HALLOWEEN TRIVIA on Wednesday October 9th from 6:30-8:30 pm in the canteen! DJ Bill Wright is terrifyingly good at stumping us all with his trivial questions. Will he succeed again this time? Don’t miss out on your chance at guessing all things spooky and creepy! Come play! Do you dare?!

DJ Scotty Sharpe returns to the Post on Friday October 18th from 6- 8 pm for MUSIC BINGO! You all packed the canteen last time, so we are ready to see that same energy this time! 3 rounds of bingo, 3 winners, cash prizes, singing, food and drinks! What a good time! The game is so easy, everyone can play! Following bingo, DJ Scotty Sharpe will stay from 8-10:30 pm to play all of your requests and to keep the party going! Kickoff your weekend with us at the Post, you just can’t go wrong with that!
AND NOW FOR SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE TRUNK OR TREAT COMING UP ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 24TH FROM 6-8 PM! PLEASE READ!!!
The Millersville VFW Post 7294’s TRUNK OR TREAT will be on Thursday October 24th from 6-8 pm. If you participated last year, or brought the children out to get goodies, then you know how AMAZING this event turned out! And we want nothing more than to have that same outcome this year! But we cannot do it without YOUR help! So help us celebrate the legacy of 125 years of service to Veterans, the Military and Community!
- We will have decorated trunks, police and fire dept vehicles, tow truck vehicles, and NEW THIS YEAR…A HAYRIDE!
- Parking will be different this year and we will have parking attendants outside for guidance.
- There will be food and games inside the banquet hall that everyone is welcomed to!
- We will have face painting as well!
- We are also working on securing entertainment for the evening as well…so stay tuned for updates on that!
For those who decorated a trunk and handed out candy last year….if you are going to participate this year (which we hope you do!) PLEASE PLEASE try to bring a good amount of candy! It’s hard to give an exact amount for an event like this, so just do your best! Our VFW will be accepting CANDY DONATIONS beginning now up until the day of the Trunk or Treat! These candy donations will be used to re-supply trunks that run out of candy before the event is over! So if you would like to donate candy, we would absolutely appreciate it! So far our bin is looking good! Thank you to those who have already brought candy in! You may just drop candy off at our Post, you may also sign up on the sign-up sheets in the canteen to let us know you will be donating some! We will have a huge bin that we will store everything in! If you are interested in helping us receive candy donations, you may also contact McKayla Herman at 717-693-3357 and she will supply you with an official donation request letter you may present!
If you would like to participate and decorate your trunk and hand out candy, you may sign up a few different ways! You may reach out to McKayla Herman at 717-693-3357 and let her know by call or text. You may call our Post at 717-872-9998 with your name and trunk theme (not all trunks need to be a theme, you may do what you would like, we just like to get somewhat of an idea of what the trunk or treaters can expect!), you may message the VFW Facebook, or you may sign up on the sign-up genius HERE. THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE DECORATING A TRUNK AND HANDING OUT CANDY! (You may put your trunk theme where it says public comment). Our participation last year was AMAZING, and we would be so grateful to be able to offer an array of trunks for the kids in the community to come to! So, your help and your time and enthusiasm are MUCH appreciated!
If you would still like to help out with this event, but aren’t too crazy about decorating a trunk, we will gladly accept your help in another way! Inside our banquet hall, we set up a few Halloween games for the kids to come on in and play! We will need volunteers at each of those games from approximately 5/5:30 pm-8 pm. They are very simple and very easy to run! We offer face painting too! if you are creative and like to paint, please reach out and we can get you signed up to help with that! We also offer food at this event as well! We ask people to sign-up to bring food for this, so that we are able to offer a nice little selection for everyone! We will also need a few people back at the food to help serve and replenish from about 5/5:30 pm-8 pm. Something is brewing up at the Post and it’s going to be spooktacular. It’ll be a grave mistake if you miss it! Mark the calendars for Saturday October 26th from 7-11 pm because we are throwing a HALLOWEEN COSTUME AND DANCE PARTY in the banquet hall! This will be opened to the public 21 and over. Ghouls and guys are all welcomed! There will be a $10 cover charge at the door. We will have lite appetizers available along with a cash bar. An ATM is right on site. DJ Cat Daddy will be mixing up all the best beats because this is going to be a night to remember! COSTUMES ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!
