This upcoming weekend, the sweet aroma of chicken bbq will be in the air as our Post prepares for its CHICKEN BBQ on Saturday September 7th! We will begin takeout sales at 11 am until we are all sold out. You may purchase chicken halves for $9.00 or you may purchase a chicken dinner (chicken, baked potato, applesauce & drink) for $13.00. This event is rain or shine! All proceeds support Veterans and community programs. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

Your favorite game is back at the canteen! Meat Tray Bingo returns after taking the summer off! Doors will be opened at 12 pm and bingo will begin around 1 pm. This is opened to members and their guests! No dabbers are needed! Come ready to have some fun and to win some great quality meat packages, which are perfect for the upcoming holiday meals! 

TRIVIA IS THE NAME OF THE GAME AND BOY DOES IT REALLY TEST YOUR BRAIN!

DJ Bill Wright is back in the canteen on Wednesday September 11th from 6:30-8:30 pm as he hosts a crowd favorite…TRIVIA! That’s right, put your thinking caps on and take a crack at the game that tests your wit! 4 rounds, 10 questions each and 4 winners. Who will come out on top?! 

DO YOU LOVE MUSIC? DO YOU LOVE BINGO? WHY NOT COMBINE THE TWO AND COME PLAY SOME MUSIC BINGO AT THE POST!

DJ Scotty Sharpe brings the party to the VFW on Friday September 13th from 6-8 pm as he hosts MUSIC BINGO in the canteen! The game is simple and fun! DJ Scotty will play a few seconds of a song clip, and if you know the song and have it on your bingo card, mark it down! Can’t quite figure out what the song is? No problem, DJ Scotty lets you know what it is so you can still mark it down for Bingo! There are 3 rounds, each round has a winner! So don’t miss out on your chance at some great cash prizes! 

THE MILLERSVILLE PARADE WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21ST THIS YEAR, BEGINNING AT 8:30 AM. OUR VFW WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE PARADE! Meat Tray Bingo will take place in the banquet hall on Sunday September 29th. Doors will open around noon and bingo will begin around 1 pm. This bingo is opened to the public, so come out to play! Again, no dabbers are needed! Bring a friend and come have some fun!

ATTENTION! MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE! THE PLANNING HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! AND HERE’S THE SCOOP SO FAR!

The Millersville VFW Post 7294’s TRUNK OR TREAT will be on Thursday October 24th from 6-8 pm. If you participated last year, or brought the children out to get goodies, then you know how AMAZING this event turned out! And we want nothing more than to have that same outcome this year! But we cannot do it without YOUR help! So help us celebrate the legacy of 125 years of service to Veterans, the Military and Community!

• We will have decorated trunks, police and fire dept vehicles, tow truck vehicles, and we are working on securing a hayride!
• Parking will be different this year and we will have parking attendants outside for guidance.
• There will be food and games inside the banquet hall that everyone is welcomed to!
• We will have face painting as well!
• We are also working on securing entertainment for the evening as well…so stay tuned for updates on that!

For those who decorated a trunk and handed out candy last year….if you are going to participate this year (which we hope you do!) PLEASE PLEASE try to bring a good amount of candy! It’s hard to give an exact amount for an event like this, so just do your best! Our VFW will be accepting CANDY DONATIONS beginning now up until the day of the Trunk or Treat! These candy donations will be used to re-supply trunks that run out of candy before the event is over! So if you would like to donate candy, we would absolutely appreciate it! You may just drop candy off at our Post, you may also sign up on the sign-up sheets in the canteen to let us know you will be donating some! We will have a huge bin that we will store everything in!

If you would like to participate and decorate your trunk and hand out candy, you may sign up a few different ways! You may reach out to McKayla Herman at 717-693-3357 and let her know by call or text. You may call our Post at 717-872-9998 with your name and trunk theme (not all trunks need to be a theme, you may do what you would like, we just like to get somewhat of an idea of what the trunk or treaters can expect!), you may message the VFW Facebook, or you may sign up on the sign-up genius HERE. THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE DECORATING A TRUNK AND HANDING OUT CANDY! (You may put your trunk theme where it says public comment). Our participation last year was AMAZING, and we would be so grateful to be able to offer an array of trunks for the kids in the community to come to! So, your help and your time and enthusiasm are MUCH appreciated!

If you would still like to help out with this event, but aren’t too crazy about decorating a trunk, we will gladly accept your help in another way! Inside our banquet hall, we set up a few Halloween games for the kids to come on in and play! We will need volunteers at each of those games from approximately 5/5:30 pm-8 pm. They are very simple and very easy to run! We offer face painting too! if you are creative and like to paint, please reach out and we can get you signed up to help with that!  We also offer food at this event as well! We ask people to sign-up to bring food for this, so that we are able to offer a nice little selection for everyone! We will also need a few people back at the food to help serve and replenish from about 5/5:30 pm-8 pm.
